Pricing and plans
How is gochron different from PagerDuty or Better Stack?+
Same feature set. Cron monitoring, uptime probes, on call rotations, and status pages. Flat $29 per month for Pro instead of per monitor pricing. No surprises when you add the 51st check.
Is there a free trial?+
The Free tier is permanent. 5 monitors, email alerts, one status page, no card required. Upgrade when you outgrow the limits.
What happens when I exceed my SMS quota?+
Pro includes 100 SMS per month. Team includes 1000. Beyond that we meter at cost plus a small margin so you are never silently rate limited during an incident.
Can I switch tiers any time?+
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Product
What monitor types do you support?+
Cron heartbeats, HTTP probes, TCP probes, and SSL certificate expiry checks. All four ship on every tier.
Can I run a status page on my own domain?+
Yes, on Pro and Team. Point your DNS at our edge and we issue the TLS certificate. Pages are cached at the edge for 60 seconds so a viral incident does not melt your origin.
Do you support OpenTelemetry or APM?+
Not yet. Our scope is the four signals: cron, HTTP, TCP, and SSL probes plus on call and status pages. Distributed tracing is a different product.
Where do probes run from?+
Currently from our IAD region on Fly. Additional regions ship as we expand the prober fleet. You can see which region produced each probe result in the dashboard.
Migration and onboarding
How do I migrate from Healthchecks.io or Cronitor?+
Existing heartbeat URLs are a few minutes of crontab edits. For bulk migration we offer a one shot import. Email [email protected] and we will sort it out.
Do you have a Terraform provider?+
Not yet. Our REST API is documented and stable, so you can roll your own with a Terraform shim if you need one today.
Security and reliability
What is your uptime target?+
99.99 percent on the API and ingest path. Status page edge has its own target of 99.99 percent independent of the dashboard.
Where is data stored?+
Postgres in the US (Neon). Probes write directly to the same cluster. EU residency lands when there is demand.
How long do you keep probe and ping history?+
Free: 30 days. Pro: 90 days. Team: 1 year. Older rows are pruned on a daily retention job.
